The Claims Handler will report to Belships CEO. For specific matters concerning Norwegian Bulk Carriers the functional reporting will be to Norwegian Bulk Carriers CEO.

Areas of responsibility:

• Dispute resolution and claims handling:

i) Handle claims representing Owners and Charterers, specifically charterparty disputes such as off-hire, performance claims, freight, laytime disputes, etc.

ii) Handle and follow up H&M, P&I, FD&D and LoH claims until conclusion, and maintain updated records of all ongoing matters.

iii) Coordinating with external counsels, P&I Clubs, FD&D, H&M insurers and brokers when needed

iv) Monitor management and resolution of crew claims

v) Overseeing settlement negotiations – process and cost control

• Review contracts with suppliers and service providers
• Provide charterparty advice to the chartering dept.
• Advise operators on voyage related operational disputes and queries such as payments, LOIs, bills of lading.
• Manage the insurance strategy for the Group and hold responsibility for insurance renewals: H&M, P&I, war, charterers liability and additional covers as required.
• Regulatory and compliance
• Staying up to date on latest international maritime conventions (new IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, BIMCO clauses and requirements)
• Overseeing sanctions/counterparty risk
